To the ancient Greeks - who knew a little somethin’ about heroes - true heroism wasn’t just about boldness, strength, and courage. They understood that in order to push beyond preconceived human limits, true heroes tap into something more powerful: a purpose beyond themselves.
Questify’s platform empowers questers of all levels to strive for the extremes of human performance, supercharged by a greater purpose, a global fanbase, and a diverse community that heeds the call to compete in athletic challenges for worthy causes.
Nope, we’re a for-profit Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), which means we’re legally committed to operating in a responsible and sustainable manner. Unlike traditional corporations, PBCs have to think beyond profit and consider the interests of a broader set of stakeholders. We’re legally required to give a sh#t about our impact on society, and we think that’s how it should be.
We literally have a “public benefit statement” embedded within our articles of incorporation that we legally have to consider alongside profit: "Questify leverages advanced technologies and gamification to supercharge epic athletic quests that mobilize the world to address critical challenges facing communities and the planet."
Speaking of public benefit, Questify does not take any fees from donations on this platform. More on that below.
Because we only recently launched it, and we want your feedback. There may be small errors here and there, just to keep you on your toes, but they should be minor! You can rest assured that payment processing is safe and secure via our partners at Stripe and Charity on Top. You’ll see new features and optimizations happening nearly every day from here on out, so keep on checking back. If you spot any bugs or errors, please shoot us an email at contact@questify.ai.
What do you mean - an African or European swallow? The average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour. For comparison’s sake, Usain Bolt’s average speed when he broke the 100m world record was 23.35 miles per hour. We have to admit that we know a bit less about African swallows. If you have some insights or data, please promptly send us an email at contact@questify.ai. Thanks in advance.
Quest = Physical Challenge + Worthy Cause
Quests begin when a quester, nonprofit, or company the Questify Community commits to an epic physical challenge for a worthy cause, and then challenges the world to join the adventure. Questers of all levels worldwide can jump in to take on the challenge, and fans can support the Quest by placing dynamic wagers on any questers’ performance...with all proceeds going to the cause.
Two options. You can support any runner by pledging dollars for every mile they move during the Quest, all the way until they hit their audacious goal. And you can track them every step of the way to see how much of your money they’re earning for their cause.
You can also join the Quest as a quester...
....hold your horses, we were getting to that. If you happen upon any Quest that inspires you, simply click “Join as a Quester.”
From there, you’ll simply connect your Garmin or Strava Account, set your goal for the Quest, and you’ll be off to the races.
For most Quests, no fundraising is required...but you can always choose to donate funds to that Quest’s cause for every mile you personally run, and you have the option to share your very own Quest Link to so your fans can track you as you conquer miles and deliver per-mile pledges to push you to new heights..
When you sign up for your first Quest, you’ll connect your Questify profile with either your Garmin account or yourStrava account. Once you do, all of your relevant activities from the period of the Quest will count towards your goal. Only activities that both start and end within the timeframe of that Quest will count towards your goal.
We’ll be rapidly expanding our tech integrations in the coming months to include an array of wearables and corresponding data that will hugely enhance the Questify experience for questers and fans alike...stay tuned.
In this early version of the platform, we’re just pulling in your activities directly from Strava or Garmin, depending on which you connect. If there appears to be an issue, check the relevant activities on your Strava or Garmin account to see if the issue is on their end. If you make any changes on Strava or Garmin (e.g. delete an activity), it should be reflected in the Quest as well. If you’re still having issues, feel free to shoot us a note at contact@questify.ai and we’ll try to help.
When we are experiencing a high volume of action, Strava sometimes delays syncing of activities. If your activities don’t sync within 48 hours, reach out at contact@questify.ai
Nope. This isn’t just a fundraising platform. We hope you’ll jump into as many Quests as you can to push yourself to physical limits and compete as a quester. Bonus: if your friends see you on the leaderboard and want to support you, they can choose to donate to your miles and the cause will benefit as a result. Win-win.
Yep, if you launch your own Quest. You can do that here.
Yes. For three main reasons:
We believe that having a purpose bigger than oneself pushes humans to achieve peak performance. It’s like steroids for the brain, but totally legal. So juice up on doing good.
We live at a batsh%t crazy time in history, and there are a lot of problems that need solving. Why not be a part of the solution while you’re out running/biking/swimming/ [insert that thing you love here]?
Supporting worthy causes is the main way fans worldwide can support you in the Questify game, and gives them an extra reason to tune in. Do it for your fans!
Yeah, we do too. That’s what inspired us to create this platform. First of all: you don’t NEED to fundraise to do awesome stuff on Questify. Just get out there and conquer challenges! Most Quest leaderboards are sorted by miles moved (but you can sort by any column to see who’s leading in various categories, including fundraising!).
Secondly, you can just make your miles count by donating as little as a cent per mile for every mile you move. That’s a pretty cool thing to do, if you ask us. But again - not required.
If you DO want to raise money for the cause from your network, we have some friendly advice: don’t beg. People love you and want to support the inspiring, crazy athletic stuff you’re doing. When they click on your Quest Link, they’re tracking and supporting YOU as a competitor...while also making the world better in the process. Alternatively, maybe they dislike you and are donating to make you run or bike further out of pure spite. Or maybe they’re neutral about you, but super passionate about your cause. Whatever the motivation, you’re winning. And so is your chosen cause. So no need to beg. Get out there and rally a movement.
No. Questify is a marketplace that connects questers, nonprofits, and companies with fans and worthy causes. Questers, nonprofits, and companies plan and organize the physical challenges themselves, partner with worthy organizations, and then use the Questify platform to rally the world to join them as athletic challengers or as fans/donors. Questify is not a registered professional or commercial fundraiser.
Yes. And even better news: any relevant activities you’ve logged since the beginning of the Quest will be uploaded and will count! So consider that fact when you set your goal and rally people around your activity.
Just fill out this form, and we’ll get right back to you.
Well Assyria doesn’t exist anymore as a country (or empire), but the four capitals of Assyria WERE Ashur (or Qalat Sherqat), Calah (or Nimrud), the short-lived Dur Sharrukin (or Khorsabad), and - who could forget? - Nineveh. The ruins of all four ancient cities fall within the modern state of Iraq, but you probably knew that.
Yes. Questify has partnered with our wonderful friends at the Charity on Top Foundation as our fiscal sponsor...they will handle all donations, provide email receipts and tax deduction information to donors, and process funds to Questify’s partner charities.
The Charity on Top Foundation is a California-based registered nonprofit organization that supports 1.8 million charities and extends its licensing and benefits to entities like Questify, so the dollars you are pledging to charity goes directly to the charity.
Your donation to any Quest is made directly to Questify’s nonprofit fiscal sponsor Charity on Top Foundation, Inc., a California nonprofit organization and a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN: 81-1198370). 100% of your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, provided that no goods or services will have been provided to you in return for your donation. Charity on Top Foundation is licensed in all U.S. states to accept donations and grant tax-receipts. It is also licensed to accept donations on behalf of other charities for distribution - in this case, the charity you have selected to support with this campaign. Charity on Top Foundation has exclusive legal control over your donation, but has a written sponsorship agreement with Questify to restrict your donation to only be paid out to the charity you have selected through Questify’s current campaign.
When your card is charged for your donation, you will immediately receive a receipt via email with tax-deductibility information included. Payouts from Charity On Top Foundation to your chosen charity take place the following Monday after you have made your donation, and full reporting is available through Questify and Charity On Top Foundation.
Charity on Top will charge Questify a fee that is equivalent of 1% of all donations in order to cover its costs. Any net amount of Stripe merchant credit card fees not covered by the donors (at an average of 2.5%), will be passed along to the charities upon payout.
Your donation is subject to our Privacy Policy.
Yes. Charity On Top pays charities every “Fund-ay Monday,” so that means that they will distribute all collected donations every Monday that were collected from the previous seven (7) days to the charities.
Nope. None. Not a dime. Our financial advisors didn’t LOVE that part of the business model. Our nonprofit partners like it a whole lot though. We hope you do too.
Our fiscal sponsor, Charity on Top, charges an extremely reasonable 1% of all donations that come through via Quests. And Charity on Top’s credit card processing fees through Stripe are 2.5% on an average. We provide an option for the donor to cover the fees so that 100% of your donation goes to your chosen charity, and about 94% of donors choose to do that.
Their chosen cause won’t get all the money you pledged, and you’ll end up donating less money. Your credit card will be charged ONLY for the money they earned with their miles during the Quest. Harsh, sure, but that’s life. 😬
A basic example: Matt’s Miles Goal: 10 Miles Your Pledge: $1/mile Max donation = $10
If Matt runs 10 miles, your card will be charged $10 If Matt runs 5 miles, your card will be charged $5 If Matt runs 15 miles, your card will be charged $10
No. The quester’s goal is the MAXIMUM number of miles that will count towards the Quest. As you slide the pledge-per-mile slidebar, that “Maximum Donation number is indeed the maximum amount you will donate, even if the quester exceeds their stated goal.
It’s probably in your spam filter? Get it out of there!! Because Questify doesn’t even touch the money, your donation confirmations will actually come directly from our nonprofit fiscal sponsor Charity on Top. If you need support, they’re happy to help.. Send an email to inquire@charityontop.org and they will get right back to you. Evenings and weekends too!
New York state wildlife expert Richard Thomas found that a woodchuck could (and does) chuck around 35 cubic feet of dirt over the course of digging a burrow. Thomas’ reasoning was that if a woodchuck could chuck wood, he would chuck an amount equivalent to the weight of the dirt: about 700 pounds. We think that’s probably flawed logic on Dicky T’s part, because dirt is far less dense than wood and thus far easier to chuck efficiently, but he’s the “expert”... 🤷♂️
Most Quests are open for anyone to join. Just click “Join as a Quester” and you’re rollin’.
Some Quests, however, are invite-only or team Quests reserved for a select group of people. We protect those private Quests with a 4-digit Quest-specific password we call a Quest Pass, which the Quest organizer can distribute to participants.
If you want to join a private Quest, contact the Quest organizer to get a Quest Pass!
Nope. Go donate to someone’s Quest now! And hurry - they’ve got a leaderboard to climb.
It’s actually pretty easy. For some Quests, questers are just giving them out! Pro Tip: Check the Quest Leaderboards. All those questers have Quest Pass Codes to share.. Also - if you’re a reader, we bet you can snag one in the next 20 seconds.. Start the clock...
Or just post on on Instagram (or stories) and tag @GoQuestify with the hashtag #questpassporfavor..
Honestly (and we mean no offense by this), that’s your best question yet. Get your eyes off the screen and go run or something. Just make sure you join a Quest first to make those miles count. 💪
Questify-related or otherwise, if there is ANY question that you frequently ask that is not covered here, please do accept our apologies. Please submit that question via this Please submit that question via this form. Someone in the Questify Community will do their best to respond and post an answer here soon. Cheers.
