This year, Boston’s “Marathon Monday” has been rescheduled for October 11 - Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Join Wings of America as they use the unique race date to honor the legacy of Native runners in this world-class event and create opportunities for future Indigenous champions.
Through the efforts of Tulsa-based artist, painter, muralist, and runner Yatika Fields (Cherokee, Muscogee Creek, Osage), Wings is using their "charity bib" to raise travel funds for future classes of their "Pursuit Program". Apart from experiencing the excitement of one of the greatest footraces in the world, Pursuit students visit Boston-area colleges and learn more about what it will take to pursue their education and running goals. Although Wings will not be sponsoring youth to this year's race, they are confident that their partnerships with the Boston Athletic Association and the Harvard University Native American Program will allow the program to continue when it's safe.
Whether or not you are running Boston, Join as an Athlete to make your training count in support of Native American runners and the life-changing work of Wings of America. When you pledge-per-mile to any runner in the Quest, 100% of your donations will go to the organization.
